Destination Amsterdam

This time last week I was in Amsterdam, staying at my Tante & Oom's wonderful apartment, getting ready for an adventure: see the city then go to Meet the Blogger. When Tante asked where would I go for my first visit in Amsterdam, seems like there are no other place but  Moooi Gallery (not Volendam nor the museums). She was confused. Even at the last minute before setting out to the tram station, Oom asked again whether I really want to go to Moooi Gallery.

The day was drizzling and cold, but the trip was worth it!

I do looove paintings and Dutch painters like Vermeer, Rembrandt and Van Gogh are some of the best! But they can wait until I can go with my art-collector husband. These avant garde furnitures are better savoured alone, with plenty of time.

I fell in love with the Clip Chair.

It's so simple, elegant and .... folds flat! A perfect expat furniture! We're always moving to a new country, some dwellings may not have as much space as the other.

While waiting for shipping options for the chair, I filled out a visitor's card. One question was thought provoking: from whom do you know about Moooi? My answer: Droog Design & Erasmus Huis.

A couple of years ago Erasmus Huis in Jakarta was exhibiting Droog Design creations. The most striking item was the Knotted Chair by Marcel Wanders.

Thus begin my heart's journey until I reached the gallery.
There are a couple other interesting shops, which will be featured in the next posting.
